How it works

Real work, inside a fictional company.

On VYRNA, you don’t take a course. You take a mandate inside a simulated company, with colleagues, documents, deadlines and decisions to make. Then you see what the company actually decided.

The examples on this page come from BRUME, a company invented for illustration.

You take a mandate

Each mandate comes with a role, a company, a goal and deliverables. You do it solo or as a team, at your own pace. Every mandate shows its own estimated time, and you have a 30-day window.

You get to know the company and its file

The company profile, your onboarding guide and the data room: studies, sales figures, plans, internal memos. But just like a real job, not everything is in there. The rest, you have to go find.

Your colleagues know more. Check it.

Some information only comes out when you ask the right person the right question. And just like at the office, a colleague may hand you outdated or incomplete information, with the best of intentions. It’s up to you to check your sources and cross-reference what you learn.

You deliver, they react

You submit a version. Your colleagues react according to their priorities, without ever giving you the answer. You defend your choice or improve it. You decide when it’s final.

You see what the company decided

At the end, your manager writes you a note. You compare each of your decisions with the company’s, with the reasoning, and see what you could have uncovered by asking different questions. No grade: just what you need to get better.

You show what you’ve proven

Your end-of-mandate badge, the skills your decisions demonstrated, your reflections: it all goes into your portfolio, ready to share with your network or a recruiter.

What makes VYRNA different

Every company has a story.

Each company has a past, people, wins and mistakes. Its mandates unfold over time, like a real career: what gets decided in one mandate becomes the starting point for the next.

  1. 2024

    Open the patio

The park-side patio becomes BRUME’s most profitable spot.

  2. 2025

    Launch coffee to go

The patio’s regulars become the starting point for a new offer.

  3. 2026

    Open in Québec City

A first location outside Montréal, built on everything BRUME has learned.

Levels of responsibility.

Every mandate gives you a specific role. From one mandate to the next, you take on more, just like a real career.

  1. LEVEL 1

    Coordinator

You organize, gather information and deliver on time.

    • Scheduling
    • Follow-up
    • First deliverables
  2. LEVEL 2

    Specialist

You analyze, recommend and defend a strategy in your field.

    • Analysis
    • Recommendation
    • Brief
  3. LEVEL 3

    Director

You weigh competing priorities, own the budget and make the call.

    • Trade-offs
    • Budget
    • Final decision

Example roles. Each mandate states yours, and the same company can give you more responsibility in the next one.

The fiction

The company, its people, its documents and its calendar are invented. What happens inside stays confidential, just like a real job.

The real

Your team, your Feed, your connections and your portfolio are all real. You ask your peers for a method, never for an answer.
